DARIN DOLCE
It seems everyone has there own theory of success and how it can be obtained. For some of us it’s a "Journey" and others a never ending "Pursuit", either way I believe success comes in many forms and can not be summed up in one phrase which applies to all of us. My "journey" if you will began in the small town of Alamosa Colorado. After graduating from Adam State College with a degree in Business I began a career in land development which has lasted for over a decade now.
During this time I have had the pleasure of working with some great people, the sadness of selling a business of 10 years, the frustration of partnerships and the excitement of pursuing other challenges. I have faced defeat but have never given up and continue to apply the lessons learned along the way.
For me success is no more then to love what you do, to be able to make a living out of something you truly enjoy and with the people you choose to be around. I believe happiness is simply the bi-product of our daily successes just as sadness and frustrations comes from our failures.
Happiness has come from my continued travels, having my girlfriend of 12 years at my side and from the never ending support and respect of my family. To this point the journey has been great and I look forward to where it takes me.
FRANK DOLCE, JR.
Frank D. Dolce, MBA
With a broad and diverse background, Frank is the jack-of-all-trades for Amici Capital.
Whether it be managing a high-tech start-up, working in development in higher education, serving as an executive in professional athletics or even as a director in the mining and exploration industry, he has consistently demonstrated the ability to add significant value and expertise. The recent addition of an M.B.A. from the highly regarded David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah to his resumé has given Frank increased working knowledge of professional accounting and finance with a special emphasis in Management. Nevertheless, Frank’s greatest asset may be his ability to understand and work with others. Building strong and lasting relationships has been a hallmark in his work life and will continue to be a driving force in his career.
Frank is married to the former Amy Allred of Salt Lake City and enjoys his free time with her and their three children, Frankie, Alexandra and Anthony.
DERRICK DEESE
As one of the most versatile offensive linemen during his era, Derrick saw time at all five positions along the offensive front during a 14 year career. He was an excellent athlete with great quickness and footwork which helped him perform exceptionally well as the NFL’s smallest offensive lineman for 12 years with the San Francisco 49ers and 2 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
"The Deeser" was named All-Pro by Sports Illustrated in 2002 and helped lead the 49ers to a world title following the 1994 season with a victory over San Diego in Super Bowl XXIX. He has blocked for a 1,000-yard rusher in six of the last eight seasons and a 3,000-yard passer in five of the last eight seasons. Derrick saw action in 151 career games with 131 starts. He originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the 49ers in 1992.
Derrick is now retired from the NFL and currently resides in Southern California with wife Felicia and 4 sons (Derrick Jr., Dontay, Devin and Drew). He received an undergraduate degree in Sociology at USC.
KARLOS CARTER
My life’s journey thus far has included attending San Francisco State University where I studied Pre-Physical Therapy before transferring to the University of California, Berkeley to study Human Biodynamics. I served the public in medical rehabilitation/ physical therapy for more than 10 years with both inpatient and outpatient services.
In 1999, I transitioned into the field of academic outreach and advising for U.C. Berkeley where I worked for more than 7 years. My advising supported high school and community college students and student-athletes in college preparation.
My prayer is that my years of public service experience in both the medical and academic communities along with my Business Administration and Management degree from the University of Phoenix provides a plethora of knowledge to support the limitless opportunities presented to the Amici team.
I am Blessed to be married to Lela Merical as well as having 3 gifted children (Darrius, 21, Kala 11 & Kaya 6) and settling in Northern California.
FRANK DOLCE, SR.
Although it seems like a brief moment in time, 40 years as an educator, wrestling coach and high school administrator have passed; my career finished, 3 children raised (Jill, Frank Jr. & Darin); and I’m still happily married to my beautiful wife Karen, what more could I ask for?
Of the many great pleasures that I’ve had in life, the opportunity to watch all of my children grow, go away to colleges across the country, travel the world and participate in all that life has to offer has been the biggest blessing.
And now, to have the opportunities to be part of their continued growth and development and share their many friends and adventures is something many fathers can only wish for, but never demand. However, when it does happen, our bonds continue to strengthen, giving me more to look forward to for the future.
With Frankie, Darin, Derrick and Karlos, all my boys (if you will) all grown up now and allowing me the pleasure of being part of their ventures with Amici Capital, well… as Jackie Gleason once said "HOW SWEET IT IS!"
